Prep for Tests

 

The Metabolic Testing equipment is incredibly sensitive machinery. It will very accurately tell us how your metabolism is functioning during that particular test on that particular day.

 

Thus, please be well rested and relatively relaxed when coming in for the tests (try not to rush to make your appointment). Sleep and hydration play a large role in obtaining your truest Metabolic Profile.

 

Preparation for the Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test:

Do not eat for 4 hours preceding your test time!

Do not ingest caffeine or any other stimulants that day

Wear comfortable, loose clothing (nothing constricting). Work out attire is fine

 

Preparation for the Active Metabolic Rate (AMR) test:

Have your blood sugar stabilized and are well hydrated (eat a little something before hand, but don’t arrive with a full stomach)

Do not ingest caffeine or any stimulants that day

Wear clothes suitable for going for a light jog

Bring some water for afterwards

 

If you are planning on taking both the RMR and AMR on the same day, back-to-back:

Follow the instructions for the RMR test above (no eating for 4 hours beforehand, no caffeine)

Bring a small amount of food and water with you to eat between your resting and active tests.

Wear clothing suitable for going for a light jog
