FAQ’s
What is my nutrition program? (What do I get with the eight-week package?)
Your initial nutrition program is an 8-week education into how your body naturally losses fat and maintains muscle mass. Your first consultation includes a resting metabolic test and body fat analysis to establish exactly how many calories your body needs and a realistic timeline to achieve your goals. After the consultation we schedule your follow up visits to measure your progress and keep you on track by making any changes needed to help you achieve your weight loss goals on time.
Why would I want to do it?
Are you already dieting and exercising and not seeing results? Or are you ready for change but don't know where to start? If you have any interest in loosing body fat or gaining muscle, learning to stabilize blood sugar to look and feel more energetic throughout the day, this nutrition program will take you there. We will take out all the thinking and confusion about how, what when and why to eat for successful weight loss and give you an easy to follow program with 8 weeks of ongoing support.
What can I expect from the eight weeks? (Results and difficulty)
There is always challenge involved with starting a new habit and we are with you to provide you with all the support and tools you will need to succeed so you can expect to get back far more than what you put in. Those who follow the plan along with regular exercise loss an average of 12 lbs of body fat in 8 weeks. We will make sure the weight you loss comes from fat, not muscle and water. The weekly follow up visits, meal plan changes and body fat testing keeps everyone highly motivated. (Research suggests that losing more than 2% of your body weight per week will increase the release of cortisol, the stress hormone responsible for the storage of body fat and loss of muscle mass.)
How difficult is the program?
Not as hard as it is rewarding. Feeling and looking great trumps any shortlived taste derived from throwing away your meal plan. Food
measurement is the challenge we'll help you overcome here. Following our easy "batch cooking" guidelines and leaning to use the scale to measure the foods you prepare in advance will take all rushing around out of your busy schedule. (So common is the over estimation of calories burned and under estimation of calories consumed without the use of measurements… CALORIES COUNT!)
How is it different from Atkins, South Beach or Barry Sears?
Caloric intake here is based entirely on the results of your personal resting metabolic examination. The ratio of protein to carbohydrates you'll consume will be dictated by the amount of, and type of, exercise you participate in.
The food combining techniques in our program leave the largely misused glycemic index of the south beach diet useless. Our long-term blood sugar stabilization and insulin control plan requires those who aren't diabetic to utilize complex carbohydrates. We don't say things like "low-carb" or "high-fat" around here, everything is personally planned for you to get the adequate proportions to ensure weight loss without going hungry. Approximately 20% of our clients are currently using the ubiquitously prescribed "zone" ratio; fortunately we were able to know in advance which one out of five would respond to that plan.
Again, Using the results of your Resting metabolic test in combination with your new computer software program; calories are set to an appropriate level, protein intake is adequate to preserve muscle, essential fatty acids are sufficient to be satisfied after every meal and you're on your way to the perfect weight loss plan designed for no one else but you!
